15 Steps to quit smoking

My 7 day Journey to Quit Smoking

Day 1: Last night Bubba and I officially quit smoking. Today we started the 15 Step program. I have faith that it will work with God's help because I cannot do this without him.

This morning I woke up at 7:30 which is rare for me and I followed the steps in order. First I prayed for strength to follow through with the commitments I made to myself, my family, and the missionaries (they provide this workshop). Next, I brushed my teeth Step 4) while looking at the reminders posted all over my house to remind me that I am no longer smoking. I planned on laying back down because I don't normally fall asleep at night until after 1 am due to insomnia, but I couldn't fall back to sleep. I decided instead to proceed to Steps 5 and 6 and have a well-balanced breakfast, grapefruit juice, and vitamin C.

I decided to create this blog to help and support others who are also struggling to quit smoking and also log my progress in my journal as a reminder. I am so thankful I heard about this program and I will keep everyone updated!

 Have a blessed day (:

My Inspiration to Begin this Blog

My night started like any other night. I changed into my black flannel pajama pants, and my faded, green "St. Patrick's Weekend Music Festival" t-shirt, took off my fluffy blue socks, and climbed into my cold bed. I threw my three blankets over me and pulled them up to my neck in hopes of regaining my warmth. Then I  settled down on my husband's nice, warm chest to try and sleep. Well, this was one of those nights where my body did not agree with my heavy, droopy eyes, and I found myself wide awake. So what did I do? I pushed the power button on the top of my T-Mobile Prism smartphone, swiped my finger across the screen, and clicked on Facebook's icon. While skimming through my friends' posts on Facebook, I came across my niece's latest blog entry.

.
I could not believe I was related to this young woman who has amazing literary talent! Her blog inspired me to begin this blog in hopes to learn more about myself and my writing abilities.

Well, I am off to read over the instructions for this week's descriptive essay that I have to write for English class, then I am going to try and sneak in a nap before my kids invade my quiet house.

Until next time.....
